Commencement Reunion Reception

We would like to invite you to our reception for Herald alumni, family, and friends during Reunion Weekend 2012. Please join the current and graduating editorial and business boards on Saturday, May 26th, 2012 from 4pm - 6pm at our office at 195 Angell Street. There will be refreshments and a short presentation about ongoing alumni outreach, financial aid, and digitization.

Updates from The Herald

We've had an exciting semester thus far, both at Brown and at The Herald! This spring, President Ruth Simmons stepped down after eleven incredibly succesful years at Brown. Christina Paxson, current dean of Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, will replace Simmons as Brown's 19th president beginning July 2012.

Furthermore, the new athletic complex comprising of the Jonathan Nelson '77 Fitness Center, the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center and the David J. Zucconi '55 Varsity Strength was finally completed and opened to the public on April 16, 2012. The solar-thermal panel installation on the roof of the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center is the largest in the country.

Alumni Outreach Update

We are thrilled to announce that on March 27, 2012 nearly 40 alums made it to our NYCHerald alumni meetup at Vyne Lounge! It was a great time to reconnect with alums from the last 30 years and share our experiences on The Herald. Please look out for the next NYC meetup as well as those coming up in your area, and if you know anyone who would be interested in such events, please direct them to sign up with our alum directory here.

In other news, the new Alumni Relations Team has been hard at work raising funds for The Herald'digitization project. Since the project began in 2008, 42 years of The Herald have been digitized. But, there are still over 70 years to go. Our goal is to digitize every Herald issue since 1891 and preserve this daily record of Brown's history. Click here to see if your year is digitized.
